They will be within a couple points of the playoffs with a win tonight. Crazy how tight it is. - landros 2
Yeah, I thought the Pens only had 77 points. I didn't realize that they had 79 points. It seems that Caps goalie that was playing out of his mind has come back to earth.
No league is going to reduce games, revenue and ultimately profits. It’s a pointless conversation. It’s an entertainment business and the goal is to make as much money as possible. Kind of a weird topic to even discuss.
There are several fixed costs in running a franchise as well.
Good luck getting the players to take a decrease in pay enough to offset those costs, the obvious losses they’d take from advertising, etc.
Could they “survive”? Maybe, but they will certain make a lot less money and will never do that. - funmaster18
It’s only a discussion because jd50 stupidly said his usual dumbness about reducing games….
And mjl made his usual ridiculous false statement….
And I pointed it out…. And mjl can’t admit he was wrong.
And it gets spun into debate somehow by some about pay cuts etc etc
Obviously they would. In a HYPOTHETICAL scenario where schedule was reduced that could ONLY happen with reduction in pay for players.
This is all hypothetical and no one is suggesting a reduction. But the league WOULD survive just dandy if they hypothetically reduced games because pay cuts would have to happen too.
I do believe a schedule reduction would make the games better imo. I know it would probably never happen but more rested players with a shorter schedule would result in higher quality product. Unfortunately they aren’t interested in that. The fans lose out.
ive seen 2 separate TK to Habs rumour videos today hahahahah - THE BLACK HAND
I reluctantly do that trade. Of course, I’d like to see the other offers since if he is made available, there will be a bidding war. But while nothing is overwhelming coming from the Habs, it is a good collection of assets. Josh Anderson is playing poorly with 5.5 for three years left. Could he just need a change of scenery? Struble is a 22 year old D that we don’t need but also wouldn’t hurt. Beck is a 200 ft C (very flyers like player) who is going to be a 4 (maybe 3) C in the league some day. Plus a 1st and 3rd. Mostly it just avoids giving TK an 8 year deal…so I’m pretty into trading him 😂
didnt they have that dude like 15 years ago - THE BLACK HAND
Correct. That is why I added "the next"....just pointing out their inability to value attributes other than size and grit. Pretty soon we will be a team full of Keith Jones

In the interesting stat category. OUt of the 19 possible playoff teams in the league. The Flyers have the youngest roster by a significant amount. (Over a year)
