hate to say it but agreed. the hurricanes and tampa foiled my dad's last chance to see a fifth cup while he was battling cancer, so that poop is personal. his last night on earth was when tkachuk beat them with 10 seconds left or whatever and that made him happy
and (frank) anything and everything toronto - batteryjackson
Very sorry for your loss. I was blessed to enjoy 4 Islander Cups with my dad. He missed on the two ECF runs and also passed from cancer.

Hard pass, Zegras stinks and they'll want a lot for him - eichiefs9
Chief, what do you not like about Zegras? I was thinking him because he is only 23 and the Ducks and he seem to be on the outs. While he may cost a lot he has tremendous upside.

I think he's a better version of Rob Schremp. He's not a "bad" player, but I couldn't possibly care less about all the goofy Michigan goals and stuff like that. He's a TikTok star.
I don't think he has any desire to do much off the puck or on the defensive side of things and, while that is OK with some players, he hasn't really blown anyone away yet.
It's not that I wouldn't take him even, it's mostly just that ANA is going to be asking for a big return and I don't think he's even remotely worth it. |

Sorry for yours and Battery's loses. My some of my best memories of hockey with my Dad at games. Now we just call each other and b!tch about our teams as he is in Carolina. He is a Rags fan but roots for Isles as well.

Thanks Nf! Really not many Islanders fans within the family and friends. You have to be different sometimes. It builds character.

Gonna be a tighter one tonight. Expecting to see the Isles try to match up Barzal-Horvat against Skjei-DeAngelo as much as possible. Could see a lot of odd-man breaks if they can do it. |

I can see your points. I was looking at it as it appears he has fallen out of favor in ANA. I thought his speed and skill would be a good complement to Barzy and Horvat. Excluding this season his two priors were solid years.
Curious to know what you think the Isles would have to give up.

Roy will work to his strengths. You have to look beyond the first 10 mins of the game. Hoping to see some vintage Sorokin tonight. Looking for the top two lines to take a lead. 3rd and 4th lines have had the most success in putting pressure on them.

cancer can go (frank) itself. i was conceived after the '83 win so all we had before the last few runs was that '93. had to tape the game 7 because my parents went away for a wedding and barely got the whole game on tape but it did make it, in trash quality |

Cancer is just brutal. As nice as the dynasty was, it was 41 years ago and lots of lean years since. 1993 and the two ECF runs with Barry were very nice as well but it's not the Cup and the team has regressed since then. I always liked a younger type of team with some key vets. This current Islander team has too many vets. |

yes, you need to bring up and develop entire generations of players in a winning environment starting them off slowly but surely without too much damage. you also gotta hope they don't suck 🤷🏻 |

This will help tonight's pain go away and help you get excited about the game.
4-2 win with the elusive empty netter. |

He clearly was a game time decision and felt good enough to go. A slightly slower less effective Matt Martin...how bad could it be? |

I don't think it will make that much of a difference. The game shouldn't hinge on that decision.

They. Just throw everything on net and get bounces. Simple but extremely effective |
