Stefan Noesen at 31 is now on the verge of greatness? |
|
|

Guentzel. Not Guentzal. When exactly did he play center? He's been glued to Crosby's wing for years.
Stefan Noesen as a top left wing option? Umm, he's been playing right wing pretty consistently. He shoots right. He usually plays right. He's also 31-years old so it would be pretty rare for a guy with a career high 14 goals to ascend to greatness. But sounds like you've watched him closer than me so maybe you are onto something here... |

Can you explain the Panarin suspension, I missed it. |

Also, given the loose definition of who actually plays left wing, very curious how someone like Drouin is recommended over an option like Debrusk or Teravainen. I saw Debrusk playing some left wing last night and he looked pretty good. Maybe this was a travel day and you missed it. |

You all are being mean. Ek is still figuring out left, right, and center. Give him some slack. |

Ek is just quoting what other people might be thinking. It's a really long quote.... |

Might be worthwhile to come up with a new list of centers since 1 day after posting you just acknowledged that Guentzel and Stamkos don't play the position much anymore. Guentzel never actually did. Your other centers were:
Reinhart - never played the position
Marchessault - has played on the wing 95% of the time
Teravainen - another winger
So in essence, you should just re-do the entire blog on centers. What you'll find is the pickings are very slim...Lindholm, Monahan, Wennberg, Stephenson. That would be a good blog.

This is why his pick will surprise us! Maybe the move from RW to LW will be the key to make him into a star 😂 |

I think they are all over rated and overpaid Fat Wallet Syndrome has set in for a lot of these guys Come back to reality What happens 10 years from now Are we headed to the way the NFL pays their players Multi millions for one season Who will be able to afford tickets to attend Sports is headed down a path of destruction of which there will be no turning back How much is enough Greed always wins out I have no sympathy for athletes in sports They are all overpaid Why not come back to the real world instead of being cry babies about you are not making enough money MILLIONS - broncohorvath
Speaking of rising costs, I remember when you could go to a movie for $3 and now it's like $24. I blame Tom Cruise and his GREED! Yuck. Yuck.
I also went to McDonalds this week and a Big Mac meal was like $14. When I was a teenager me and my friend Joe Biden used to get a burger for 50 cents. 5 more cents for an ice cream. GREED. GREED. Hey you kids, get off my GRASS!!

I don't think the absence of attention will stop it either, but duly noted, I'll stop interacting. |

So today we get right wings. The list should obviously start with Reinhart...but I guess he plays center. Stefan Noesen could be an option, but he was already listed as a left wing on the verge of greatness. I'm not sure who is remaining at right wing? Can't wait to find out. |

Matt Duchene isn't my favorite player on earth but he's an actual center and had a pretty good 'prove-it' year at Dallas. I don't understand why he (or Chandler Stephenson who you just mentioned) wasn't on Ek's original list of centers-who-were-mostly-wings. |

It's his first good season in a while so I can certainly understand some reticence but Drouin was quite a bit better statistically than DeBrusk. He was the 4th leading points producer on the highest scoring team in the league.
DeBrusk 19-21-40 48% 5v5 CF in 80 games
Drouin 19-37-56 55% 5v5 CF in 79 games |

I think if Drouin signs somewhere else and no longer gets to play with MacKinnon, Makar, etc...then his numbers may fall heavily. Whereas I think DeBrusk would be a pretty reliable 20+ goal, 40-50 point guy in a lot of situations. Like take a random team - say Ottawa - Drouin comes in to play on a 2nd line with guys like Norris, Pinto, Batherson. I'm not seeing 56 points. I see 36. Whereas DeBrusk probably gets his 45-55 points in a situation like that. I like Drouin. But it helps being on the ice with MacKinnon, Makar, Rantanen a lot.
