I dont. Thats why you make the retention so high. Theres gotta be a place in North America he wouldn't mind going to. - aecliptic
See if he’ll go to Florida, they’ll turn him into Sam Bennett. How many chances did we have to get that guy. Of course, I’m only kidding. |

Just looked at zibs buyout numbers for fun. His contract is buyout proof lol. Literally only save like 700k a year haha |

Thats why I say, if we can, retain like 2.5m and see if there are any takers. |

This team has never been good 5v5. There is no way to get better when they have no cap space and all these core members Locked up. It sucks but we are stuck as a good but just not good enough roster - TPC
I think they can add a top rw that is good 5v5 and revamp the bottom 6. Cuylle and probably goody and vesey only locks to be back next year there. Need a brand new 3rd line |

That's pretty rough still.
All these trade proposals and buyouts and contract questions for the offseason are useless. We need our stars to be playoff style players. So unless we are able to magically dump Zib for Draisaitl, and let Panarin be a complementary scoring winger that he is in the playoffs, there's not much point in any of this other stuff. Other than feeding all of our collective addictions to this team. - t-dawg

You're right. The Rangerd are old. Probably too old, definitely way past the age to have a team sexually assault a player. - blacksheep1
Youre so ignorant. And a team didnt assault a player. And as a nyorker you should talk about assault. Useless comment on your part. |

I would retain money on the Zib contract, making it near impossible for an opposing team to turn down. Almost like a partial buyout. Id retain as much as 2.5m on Zib's contract to move him, making his AAV 6m per for anyone interested. - aecliptic
2.5? Are you a clown. Half is when teams will even talk to you, if they talk at all. You have to sweeten the pot for a team to help you out. |

Vegas talked to SJ for Hertl.
- Hertl is the same age as Zib.
- Coming off of knee surgery.
- A contract just as bad as Zib.
- A player, who at his absolute prime/best didnt produce on Zibs level.
SJ retained 1,387,500 on Hertl's contract. SJ got a 1st round pick and a prospect in return for Hertl.
So to say that we would need to sweeten the pot even more than retaining 2.5m, making him 6m AAV on a player capable of 30goals and ppg production is asinine.
But I get it, youre a typical Rangers hater and are basking in all this. So good for you. |

But they have had playoff success. I don’t agree with that notion. They swept the capitals and beat a very good Carolina team. They lost to a very heavy Florida Panthers team in 6. I’m sorry but I can’t get down with the extremities you constantly catastrophize. I get it we didn’t win the cup but let’s not make it sound like this team isn’t close or that this window is closing. Before this Florida series we were talking about Mika in the conn Smythe conversation. I’m just trying to be realistic about the team. They are a very good young team still and I don’t think ripping it apart because of this series is the answer. Just my opinion of course. - Awolff9
They are a good team, just think they are maxed out as a team that can get to the conference finals but not over the hump. Don’t need to blow it up. But really need to find a way to move a big contract or two. Moving a Trouba and using that money to fill out the roster could help - TPC
Kind of want to hone in on these two comments from Adam and Matt. I get that it's tough and the cup is always the goal. It's also like we were the 3rd/4th best team in the league this year but it still feels as bad as if you were the 24th or 25th team.
Ultimately I know we all want the cup. I want it to. For now got to see what happens this offseason. I loved playing backseat GM in my past but for now I realize us backseat GMing and predicting what might happen in the offseason/trade deadline is usually wrong anyway so for now just have to wait and see. |

I dont care if he has 20 goals or 20 assists. The fact is once the going got tough, he disappeared. Its not like his production got sacrificed for others, which is where I think Panarin sort of slots in. The guy had 0 goals in 10 games, points in only 1 of the 6 games played against the Panthers. |

Ehh, they kinda did. Quenneville, Bowman, Keith, Kane, Toews and many others all knew about it. Quenneville even recommended the guy for a job working with children, where he sexually assaulted a 16 year old. Classic Blackhawks rape environmen. Sad.
Lastly I live in New Jersey.

The 1st line needs to be completely revamped. Becuause Kreider and Zib are still responsible defensively, they should form the new 3rd line. Give Krieder PP time and let them kill penalties. If we can’t jettison Zib, let him play in role more to his effectiveness.
Drury needs to get off his ass and bring in players more conducive to today’s NHL for the 1st line. They don’t need to be superstars, but they need to have size and like to forecheck. |

That’s Drury’s job, and if he can’t do it for whatever reason, it’ll just be the same old ineffectiveness.
How much space do they have for next year? How much is Bettemans chocking cap suppose to increase? |

Its hard to revamp the 1st and 3rd line when we dont have physical and/or cap space.
With the massive jump in the salary cap this year, we will have our backs against the wall in free agency because the contracts handed out will be relative to the inflation. Theres guys like Duchene, Stephenson, Marschassault, Toffoli, Sprong and Necas whose rights the Canes might dangle around the league, available in free agency, and we likely wont be able to grab any of them. |

The one trade that seems to make sense and have seen thrown around on ACGM is Trouba to the Red Wings with 1.5 - 2m retention. That would jump our cap space to @22m. |
