Since I doubt lavy makes big changes the one wild card I would try is Goodrow as the RW on the Zib line. Been one of the better forwards all series for the rangers. Maybe his sandpaper game will help - TPC
The thing with Goodrow is hes not gonna elevate Mika and Kreider. Yes, he will be a pain in the arse out there, hitting, boards, grinding... but playmaking is not his thing. Which is why Id like to keep Mika and Roslovic together, but then putting Wennberg on the wing because he can make plays with the puck. |

Cuylle had some great shifts, not enough ice time for him in my opinion, he was a beast on them, he is a guy they should try to get more time and opportunities for 5 on 5 - MiloslavHorava
Theres just a huge logjam at LW on this team. |

Canes lost to the Rangers because they had subpar goaltending, and defensive lapses at the wrong time. |

Make him the LW on the third line. Roslovic is misplaced there. |

Coming into this round, we all felt that would not be the case and the battle would get harder. It has. So this is no shock |

I didn’t say it was a shock. Just stating the reason the Canes lost to the Rangers, has absolutely nothing to do with this series, |

Everyone has been saying they are following the exact same steps as the 1994 team. Well they have their chance to prove it in games 6 and 7 |

I make no excuses for guys not stepping up.
Of the regulars - the top 6 guys I only see Trocheck ad Laffy fully engaged every shift playing hard and physical, it blows my mind when I don't see their teammates, who have to notice it, following their lead. Those two are playing playoff hockey and the rest are still playing regular season hockey |

On the Jake Guenztel rumors, this is what I wrote March 8:
"Emily Kaplan said during the intermission of the game on ESPN that the Rangers didn’t want to include Kakko for Guentzel. She reported later that the Rangers offer did include Othmann and a 1, but Dubas opted for the multiple pieces, including Bunting, over this deal"
No one else has reported Kakko was the ask. Given the number of pieces Carolina gave up, that was not going to be enough, not by any stretch. The Hurricanes have a deeper system and we all were not in favor of moving Othmann or for certain Gabe Perreault and possibly even Will Cuylle in a deal like this. |

Three major issues in this series.
Their two best players games doesn’t translate well in deeper rounds of the PO. Too soft and one dimensional.
They don’t have a true top RW. Can’t overpay other players as there is a domino effect from it.
The rangers defensive core outside a healthy fox being a true one is rolling out Lindgren miller Schneider who are good number 4s. Trouba and Gus aren’t playable.
Back end needs bigger players that can skate and move the puck

To a man no one wanted to give up either othmann or Kakko for a rental. Hindsight is very easy right now. |

fingers crossed.
i, for one, am so sick of hearing about 94. so sick of seeing the players, the throwback videos.
i get it, it means more for the folks who lived through it. i was 5 so i don't remember much of anything. but to me its just a painful reminder how long it's been. |

It all depends if Kakko is moved this offseason for pennies on the dollar. Then it’s an issue |

Good, with the exception of Lindgren, the rest of that group provides nothing positive. |

Well, seeing whereas we only have the word of Emily Kaplan and a no other source to either confirm or deny anything to do with a Gruntzel trade we’ll just have to let it go. |

Lindgren will age like milk. Trouba hopefully is moved as well. Bad player worse contract.
Panarin and zib aren’t moveable so there that. That pretty skill style isn’t good enough imo to be your two best guys |

They play a true North American game. Stamkos point Crosby Mackinnon Bergeron Marchand Messier St. Louis etc. panarin and zib don’t have anything in common with those players |

I guess Barkov has become an honorary North American... |
