Zab for drai? What planet are you from? - LFS
Not saying that they should literally propose this trade. I'm saying that the difference between us winning a cup and finishing as a top 4 team is essentially the difference between having a Zib as our 1C vs having a Draisaitl type player in that spot.
You need to have your stars be absolute big, tenacious dogs that produce when the games get toughest. Draisaitl is at the top of my wishlist. Maybe we can pry him out of Edmonton one day, but I'm not optimistic. |

Cap is going up to 87.7m, we have 13.7m in cap space.

Roster looks as is...
Panarin, Trocheck, LAF
Kreider, Zib, _______

Kakko has to be gone, his shelf life is way past expired.

Entertain offers for Chytil he’s one hit away from extinction.

The one trade that seems to make sense and have seen thrown around on ACGM is Trouba to the Red Wings with 1.5 - 2m retention. That would jump our cap space to @22m. - aecliptic
Stevie Y would never do that. |

We've all said that we dont mind Trouba, just not at 8m per. Why wouldnt Stevie Y entertain Trouba at 6.5m AAV, especially when the only RD they have is Seider. I think the only way it would work is if we took Petry off their hands. |

Ben Chariort is on that roster and he's worse than Trouba. Yzerman isn't adding another anchor to an up and coming team. |

Yeah the Red Wing won't be taking on Trouba even at a Reduced cap hit. Raymond and Seider need new deals. They need a goalie and 4 more forwards.
Rangers have either buy him out like you said or suffer. I'm fine with suffering. |

Wennberg has to go. Trouba really needs to be moved for the shakeup. He’s the worst player on the team. Or the most frustrating one |

I think with 2m retained, a team would be interested.

One of the posters on BR actually made an interesting point...
This mess were currently in is Gorton's fault because he was trying to create a European empire in NYC. However instead we ended up with a long list of disappointing Europeans during the rebuild.
Andersson, Kravtsov, Lundkvist, Lindbom, Kakko, Ragnarsson, Henriksson and Tarnstrom. Im not gonna call Chytil failed, I guess hes been ok, but cant say hes lived up to everyone expectations either and should be part of the exodus this season.
Thats 5 failed 1st round European picks between 2017 and 2019. |

Rangers have abougt 11.3 million in cap space right now and have to resign Kakko, Schenider, and Lindgren
Honestly I think Kakko is traded. Rangers don't have any 2nd or 3rd round picks this draft. Can see them refilling those with someone like Kakko. You figure Lindgren/Schneider would come in around 6.5-7 million combined?
So would have about 5 million to spend on free agents/trades if they wanted.
Zib can't be moved.
Trouba doesn't have any value unless he is bought out.
I am wondering since Kreider has a 15 team NTC now, if he is the one shopped? Will be 34 next year. Still has value coming off another great year for him. Could fetch you a 1st and a prospect type of trade. Playoff teams would love to add him for the 2nd line and special teams. Not saying I trade him cause you all know I love him but the Rangers need cap space, they need a change somewhere. Would create almost 10 million in space to allow them to be big spenders if they wanted to go after a Guenztle or someone via trade.
Gonna be interesting |

I think you guys underestimate Trouba's value. I think with retention he can be moved. |

Like I said I don't want to trade him, but out of all of the core he has the best trade value right now.
Something has to change. You can't run it back with Zib, Trouba, Panarin and Kreider all at their current cap hits.
Would prefer Trouba gone but just don't see another team doing it
Free agency is less than a month away so trying to transition from another bummer ending to offseason talk lol |

Kreider's cap hit is not an impedance. Youre not finding anyone out there with his production at his cap hit. |

True but I was saying if you add his cap hit to the potential 5 million leftover cap space you will have then you can add a true impact player
Trust me would rather just keep him and move Trouba or Zib. That would be ideal |
