He’s in. Florida playing much better then the last couple of games…

I thought Florida would find a way. The Oilers were so close in the third.

Gary Bettman doesn’t look well. I mean I always wondered why he insists on announcing awards or at the draft to constant boo’s, but it looks to me like he’s got Parkinson’s. The last few times he’s had a mic, he’s been shaking really bad. I think he’s days as commissioner are coming to an end.

Yeah they really are a solid team. The owner of the panthers Vinny Viola is a winner. Having an owner who wants to win makes a big difference. Not saying the isles owners don’t wanna win, but we’ve been down that road before with Wang.
Either way it’s good to see a team win their first cup. Also cool to see how Keith Tkachuk who never won, got to see his kid hoist it.

Vinny does seem like a great owner. I did not like the Oilers chances of winning 4 in a row. I thought all the work to tie the series would catch up to the Oilers and Florida would find a way.

Yeah it’s pretty clear. I saw it at the draft lottery first, and last night was pretty obvious. Tough to watch. Whatever anyone thinks of Bettman he grew the league since he took over.

He gets a worse rap than he deserves. He's not perfect at all, but he has absolutely done his job in regards to growing the game. Hopefully it's nothing, but who knows.

I think Garry has done a good job growing the Game. Chief, the Rangers thread was talking about McGroarty. I think you need to put a stop to it.

Have a feeling this is going to be an active trade market leading up to and during the draft due to its weakness. Not for us but every other team. 😆 😉

Just look at the four conference finalists
1)NYR-A team that rode the back of a star goalie all season and ageing top forwards who can score. Come playoffs first two rds had poor goaltending. Come ECF Laf a top pick showed promise but rest of forwards faded and workhorse D was worn. What started as a youth rebuild became a retool at forward.
2)DAL-A solid vet team with some solid young players in development and a solid goalie. Simply was EDM's year in West.
3)EDM-Top forwards showed their talent and Bouchard on D showed offense.
4)FLA-Team has shown that after years of developing top picks in Barkov and Ekblad, adding Tkachuk, Bob and others etc. Unlike NYR this team has developed their deaft picks.

Bottom line is that you need to draft well and develop the talent. Adding UFA's and vets in trades is important but last two playoff rds show which teams took the right approach.

While I can appreciate the "trade Nelson" sentiment, we all know it's not going to happen

It's certainly not outrageous to want to trade Nelson, but it's very doubtful.

I get the idea of Nelson getting older etc, but for his price right now, is there a better player with production vs cost? He’s the isles best player….and I don’t think it’s even up for debate. Quietly he racks up pts year in and year out cheaply. Trading Nelson would have to be for a very good return the isles way.

All that said I don’t see Lou trading Brock Nelson.

for Rutgers McGroarty....Want to make the trade in the next 36 hours

I would do it. Give them a second and third.
