Levshunov does not belong in the NHL at the start of the season. Haven't they learned their lesson with Korbumski?

That's fine really. We basically replaced R Johnson and M Entwistle with Pat Maroon/Craig Smith. Martinez is old but still serviceable, he was playing 19 minutes a night for Vegas.

If you look at it this way, basically everyone that was just brought in played in the playoffs last year. Glad KD avoided the big term overpay contracts.

Maroon and Smith are an improvement over Johnson and Entwhistle. Same for Martinez on the blue line.

Yes on the first point.

Isn't Levshunov committed to Michigan State? Spares them the decision of where to send him if he is not ready to play in the NHL. The problem with KK was he was too young for Rockford, and too good for juniors.

Kurashev will be next to Bedard until he is traded or is surpassed by prospects. Had they signed Kaner, Kurashev's trade value would take a hit.

I would be surprised if Sanford starts here out of camp.

If they brought in all these additional veterans to show the kids what it takes to play and win in the NHL, you would think that more than Bedard and KK would be exposed to this culture. At a minimum, Nazar should be another one to be on the team.

Korchinski you could kind of understand if they didn't feel staying in the W was good for his development, time will tell if that was right or not (at least for the rest of us).

Leshunov on the other hand is at a good program at MSU, playing against players who are as old or older than him.

I would think best thing for his development is to stay at MSU, and join Moore for 5 games at the end of the season. Then next year at camp, determine if its Rockford or Chicago.

Just like Slaggert and Nazar. (for the record, I'm not convinced they'll both be in Rockford next year).

Who is 2 center? TT? Reichel? AA? Kurashev?

All the GMs that passed on Eiserman run the big risk of him sticking it to them. And the more I think about the more I think they stayed away from him for some character issue. No way 19 teams pass on the guy rated as the best pure goal scorer in the draft. If he proves he can put up big numbers in the NHL and be able to maintain that play in the playoffs the Islanders may have the steal of the draft.

There were some questions about his consistency of effort and mixed reports on his skating.

it was mentioned both seemed to get better in the 2nd half but at North Dakota he better be prepared to work on both cause its a solid program that attracts good player. He is going to have to earn his ice time.

Not really a lesson to be learned when they made the right call with Korchinski. He wouldn't have learned squat going back to Jr. Maybe he will see some times at the AHL in the next year or two here, but maybe not, he did improve as the year progressed.
