All the GMs that passed on Eiserman run the big risk of him sticking it to them. And the more I think about the more I think they stayed away from him for some character issue. No way 19 teams pass on the guy rated as the best pure goal scorer in the draft. If he proves he can put up big numbers in the NHL and be able to maintain that play in the playoffs the Islanders may have the steal of the draft.

You would assume there has to be something. I'm just biased, Boisvert may be a better player, I just keep thinking they outsmarted themselves with Leshunov over Demidov

Korchinski you could kind of understand if they didn't feel staying in the W was good for his development, time will tell if that was right or not (at least for the rest of us).

Leshunov on the other hand is at a good program at MSU, playing against players who are as old or older than him.

I would think best thing for his development is to stay at MSU, and join Moore for 5 games at the end of the season. Then next year at camp, determine if its Rockford or Chicago.

Just like Slaggert and Nazar. (for the record, I'm not convinced they'll both be in Rockford next year).

- vabeachbear

I don't disagree about Levshunov. He has gone up 3 levels in 3 years. Asking him to go up another level is really asking a lot of the kid, IMO.

Their reasoning on KK was flawed. They didn't want him playing deep into the playoffs in the W is what I recall as one of the reasons they kept him in Chicago. He was overmatched. I am not sure how it helped his development

Well the trolls should be out in full force.

Bowman and Q have been reinstated by the league and eligible to find employment. Sounds Bowman is on the short list for Edmonton.

Wennberg signs for 5M/AAV for 2 years. Glad KD stayed away from him. Henrique would be a better option.
- Elbows15

I like Henrique, but might be hard to pry him away from signing with a contender.

Didn't Raddysh take a while to get back and then didn't get qualified this summer and is gone?
- SteveRain

I couldn't even tell when he WAS in the line-up.

As well they should. They all took the fall for McD failure from what I read in the report.

Yeah, I think KD is done. I was comparing him to Wennberg which someone mentioned would be a fit.

I agree with you there. I don't expect them to really add anymore UFA at this point either.

Raddysh appeared (notice i didn't say played) in 73 games don't think that is it. My guess is Blackwell and AA, as they missed the most time.

Does CBJ have a coach yet? Q first in line for whichever contender gets off to a slow start.

We agree on this, don't get the bums for the 4th line

- vabeachbear

Well, IMO, I think its better at this point to have those bums playing 4th line minutes than putting young players in those roles while leaving guys in the minors to grow into that type of role. Meaning guys like Ludwinski, Savoie and that ilk. AS long as they give a guy like Slaggert a chance to win a spot, then fine. If not, he will work his ass off to get back.

I see where you're going with TT but ultimately yeah would still be an improvement and I'm a bit higher on him I guess. I do think he's a guy that helps drive possession and also pushes other guys down to more appropriate roles in the lineup.

Christmas in July, D!!.... One thing about TT, and I love the signing especially the 3 yr term for the 29 yr old, is as it relates to Riechel.. If Reichel ever hits it's gonna be playing a style very much like TT as they are similar as quick twitch, explosive athletes with +speed.

Watching/talking with TT can only help Reichel....... And, Bedard is gonna love TT and quite frankly his excellent defense is needed on any Bedard line.

Did not think TT would take so few yrs especially at 5.5 per which would seem the going rate.

Sounds like the comparable is Brock Boeser? The dude was having a really nice post season until they found the blood clots.
- fattybeef

Boeser isn't a center and smaller. I was not thrilled with the Boisvert pick but he is going to a good program. It was mentioned he was did improve in the 2nd half so maybe it is just a maturity thing. They are 17-18 afterall.

Not really a lesson to be learned when they made the right call with Korchinski. He wouldn't have learned squat going back to Jr. Maybe he will see some times at the AHL in the next year or two here, but maybe not, he did improve as the year progressed.
- breadbag

He could have learned how to play defense in the W. He was getting tossed around pretty easily at the end of the season. I don't think he improved at all.

He was one of the worst D-men in the league. So what did he learn?

I read another article about Holland coming to Chicago. Two articles, two different writers. Could be the young Mr. Wirtz does not want to be as hands on as his dad.

Most of them i would prefer play at least a season or two in Rockford. Slaggert in my mind should make the team. He's not a young guy, he played 4 years in college, and really is a better option on the 4th line than anyone else last year.

I'm ok with the bums if its not all 3 of them at the same time.

The burning question of the day;

How many Seasoned Professional Vets does it take to teach youngins how to be professional hockey players???

So theoretically, he could have un-retired at any time and have been welcomed back?

He was the youngest dman in the league. Kid can skate circles around all our D not named Jones and Vlasic. He wasn’t even close to worst in the league (Zaitsev, Nikita), lighten up Francis.

That and I think just having better line mates. Hopefully Reichel ends up on the 2nd line and flourishes there.

Yeah I think KFC did a nice piece of work today. Bertuzzi and TT are nice top 6 adds that can help drive possession and didn't have to sign either to long term deals.

Brossoit helps shore up the goalie tandem while they possibly stick Martinez or maybe Murphy (or Martinez again if Murphy gets hurt) with KK to shore up their 2nd pairing.

Maroon, meh but I don't mind the Smith signing. Not the same player he was 7 yrs ago but I think he can still be a bit of a pain to play against as a 4th liner.
