Swap Nazar for Reichel, and Anderson for Smith. I trade Reichel, just don’t see where he fits. - ChicagoHope
Reichel will beat out Anderson and Smith is my guess. If he can't, then u risk waivers or trade him.
Anderson will get through waivers with his new deal and Smith can take a spot in the pressbox for much of the season with Maroon. |

So who gets waived at the start of the year that Nazer and Slaggert are on the opening night roster?
Or are you planning on someone being on opening night IR? - LAHawk
I'm thinking injuries, we don't know if Hall is ready but you bring up a good point. |

And there is the Kimmo signing. Brodie is a corpse at this point. |

And, in theory having a 60/40 or 55/35 game split it will keep both goalies, 31 and 32 yrs old, healthy. .... Really like this signing.
I assumed KD wasn't gonna put his squad thru another season of Soderblom it was just a matter of who he'd sign as the backup. Brossoit is a sold choice. ...... And, as mentioned when both goalie's 2 yr contacts end a 24 yr old Commesso will have been properly developed. - Mr Ricochet
I do think it was really needed, just because while I don't think Soderblom is a lost cause, he needs to find some confidence again before playing in the NHL again. With Mrazek being somewhat injury prone, we needed another vet around. Both our goalies have contracts that are reasonable and won't block anyone from rising up to take the job in the future. We shouldn't lose as many games due to goaltending next season (hopefully). I also hope we can get some wins where the goalie doesn't have to stand on their head, which was a theme last year. |

KD should have went home. Brodie is a bad signing. He got benched after one game in the playoffs by the Leafs. |

Reichel never makes it to Rockford if you try sending him down. I bet he ends up with the sharks as first waiver claim. - LAHawk
Maybe I am mistaken but he is on an entry level co tract still right, and can be sent down w/o going through waviers, or am I mistaken? |

He was the youngest dman in the league. Kid can skate circles around all our D not named Jones and Vlasic. He wasn’t even close to worst in the league (Zaitsev, Nikita), lighten up Francis. - ObeseOprah

You're mistaken. He is on his 2nd contract. |

Let's not forget the possibility of a trade between now and the season start. Some other team could have some injuries in camp and need a Donato, Craig Smith type.
If some team likes Reichel's potential and is willing to trade their own younger player, that's another possibility. Sort of like the Joki-Nylander trade that came out of nowhere a few years ago.
Maybe Hall or AA start on IR by tweaking last year's injuries during pre-season.
A lot of variables in play between now and early October.

WTF ! They really signed T J Brodie? why
he was Tallon's future great defensemen when he was young in Calgary, and now we have to watch him here?
Wow, Kyle!
He is a bit not what I want my young defenders to see. |

After another very strong draft and further strengthening the overall prospect pipeline the Hawks have now also done an outstanding job with FA and made just the right signings IMO. The key for next season is to upgrade to the point where, unlike last year, we’re actually a legitimate NHL-caliber roster with more legitimate talent to compliment 98…yet also still bad enough to land a lottery pick again next year. After next years draft our pipeline will be ridiculously loaded. And in 2-3 years we will be a competitive, rising young power with $ to spend and tons of appeal for big market FAs/the next “Hossa”. |

I think they give Reichel a shot. Maybe between Hall and TT. Two legit top 6 forwards. - Ztra
Reichel hasn't shown he's an NHL player yet I'd leave him at wing where he's fared better until he does. |

He's absolutely trade bait. He was abysmal as a center, and isn't an NHL-player if he isn't playing in the top-six.
Think he's an early change of scenery candidate if he's not looking like a roster lock come the fall. - TommyHawk
IDK, KD made the statement when he got the job he was tired of other teams developing our players. |

They are not winning anything this year. Reichel's only just turned 22 and is on a cheap deal. I'd like to at least give the kid another year before he gets booted off the island.
If he clicks you've got a top 6 player.
Right now they aren't going to get much of anything for him anyway so I'm in no rush to trade him...certainly not as some are suggesting because he doesn't fit into the lineup. |

There has to be some kinda deal happening with some other roster player. |
