Agree they likely should and have no issue with both guys going down with Nazar running the 1st unit PP and Slaggerty being on the top PK unit. I don't think either guy lacks for confidence at all but also don't think it would be a detriment to their growth to spend part of or most of the season there.

I figured Slaggert would be in the B6 anyway but like you say nothing wrong at all with making guys win their positions.

Hope Nazar stays up. He’s already better than anyone not named Bedard or Terravainen in the forward group.
Marroon and Smith are replacement level guys, not thrilled with these. But at least they’re NHL players.

I'm always looking ahead. Smith, Maroon, Martinez and Donato trade deadline bait? KD would stock up on 2026 and 2027 3rd and 4th round picks.

He is a career 0.911 Sv% 2.64 GAA and has been pretty solid 3 of the last 4 seasons he has played.

He played 23 games with the Jets last year, 2.00 GAA and 0.927%. He has been a career backup type but I dunno if they paid him 3.3 million (nearly as much as Mrazek) to only play 1 out of every 4 or 5 games. I think they will rotate in net and see who is playing well.

I'm sure there is a chance, but I don't think we should expect it. He is 18 years old, so it might be a little time before he is NHL ready.

Including Slaggert and Nazar (and Hall who still shows as on LTIR), the Hawks have 15 forwards signed.

So yeah, most likely Slaggert and Nazar start in RFD. A lot of these signings are pretty low dollar, so the Hawks can deal with them pretty easily.
