The faster the Flyers get rid of Tortorella the better.

If it is known that the coach does not believe in me, then that is the day I request a trade.

Is there a link or evidence that Torts doesn't like or believe in Farabee and Frost? Or is he just challenging them to be better players? I mean Farabee was 5th among all forwards in ice time and just 20 seconds behind a guy like Tippett. Frost was just a few seconds behind Farabee. Both saw time on the PP. Did Torts send a mean tweet that I missed?

I hope Tortorella keeps extracting every ounce of talent out of the Flyer's roster and perpetuates their franchise into mediocrity. Hopefully he alienates Michov and makes him request a trade.

So many armchair GM's on here.
Briere isn't going anywhere.
Tortorella isn't going anywhere.
Jones isn't going anywhere.

Not for several years at the earliest.

I applaud Briere for what he's doing.
Patience, people.
We got 2 studs released from Russia early. TWO.
Think management didn't have anything to do with that?

This is going to take a few years to get a team where we can honestly say "We can compete."

Get over yourselves.

Trading the 32nd pick for a future 1st in 2025 was a pretty good move.

That's the problem. The fans are preaching patience..Philly needs a #1C, #1 & #2dmen, they had a golden opportunity for a potential #1 dman, and they took a guy well ahead of his draft projections. There doesn't appear to be a true plan, just hoping for the best.

Management wanted the playoffs last year...they failed. The want it again next year, but they won't be close at all. Next to Michkov, they haven't added anything, or made any trades when the best move for the team is to trade TK and Laughton, for future options like picks and prospects. They have basically the same lineup as last year, without Walker for most of it, and with Michkov. Expecting Michkov to be the savior as a rookie is a lot to dump on the player. Throw in signing 30+ year old vets to overpriced extensions, and it keeps happening, is also hurting the team. It just feels like they are spinning their wheels, same mistakes as the last 20 years.

Three 1st round picks in what is supposed to be a stacked draft next year is a very good move.

Three seconds, as well. They’re pretty well lined up for the ‘25 draft.

I’m not sure what they’ll do with it when they get the chance, though.

They had that potential LHD sitting there for them, and passed him up. It was an outside shot that they’d get a chance on any of the top 6 defensemen, let along the lefty they really needed. All of a sudden Buium is sitting there, and they trade back one spot?

I’m not going to bury Briere yet. I give him an incomplete. I know a lot of our fans have already decided which way they’ll stand on him, but I can’t do that just yet. He’s in the fledgling stages of a massive overhaul. Hey, they’re frustrated. We’ve got every reason to be so.

They just must not have liked the player sitting there. Well, neither did a few other teams. Nobody saw Buium sliding to them. Not 12. Lotta people are saying 12. It’s not like he was ever thought to be the 1st pick. C’mon. But 5 other teams that wanted defense sure did.

I dunno. I wanted Buium. But I really can’t say I’ve seen a lot of him outside of my research. And as for Jett, I’m completely blind. I have no background on him and didn’t research him as I never considered the option. Hey, I’m frustrated too, and I shot my mouth off pretty good when they picked the kid.

But now I’ve taken a step back. I’m looking at a glut of picks in rounds 1 and 2 in a nice draft, they got their franchise player to come over 2 years early, and I’m just gonna see how this plays out. I’ve got no expectations for them in ‘24-‘25, so I’ll just watch Danny and see if he can do this, or if he’s out of his depth. As for Jett, we’ll see down the road. Clean slate. Please don’t judge the player before we’ve seen him develop. It’s not his fault the brass took this path. Kid was barely eligible for the draft.

The one issue I see is that 2 of the 3 1sts they choose from are likely going to be 22nd at the highest, but hey, it’s still valuable draft capital.

Might even add even more with TK or something. I dunno.

It's a new era of Orange!!!!!!!!!!! Actually its the same old crap, just different people. The best thing they can hang their hat on is how beautifully they work together. It's just a wonderful thing to see. They should hang a banner for that in the rafters.

Man, I’m frustrated too. I am. It really does seem like we’re stuck in neutral.

The only choices left when you’ve been this beaten down for so long are hope, indifference, or revolution, and the last one is out of our hands. We’re not angry peasants who are ready to take a noble’s head. Although it does seem that the vassals are all coming from the same family being previous Flyers. Anywho, can’t dethrone Comcast.

It’s either crying about it, turning your back, or watching from afar distrustfully. I can’t turn my back, but I do think more and more of a once large and loyal base are ready to go full fair weather. Guess I’ll go with C, but I hold the right to dip my toes into A when I’m pissed.

Many want to blame Comcast and I get that. Comcast is a business. They care about the profitability of the business and all that comes with that. The advertising and everything else. Winning the Cup is secondary to them and who can blame them. They answer to the shareholders. However and this is key. They give the Flyers all the financial support and resources that they need to build a contending NHL team. They have all the infrastructure they need. They allow them to spend millions on coaches and pay coaches who aren't even coaching. They spend up to and over the cap. They don't place financial limits on the team payroll. Neither on the scouting department and the medical and training facilities. All state of the art. How they spend those resources is on the team management. They have failed to build the team to where it needs to be. Not Comcast upper management.

Oh, i understand all that. Comcast is a massive corporation and the flyers are just an asset to them they expect returns from.

They’ll give Danny the resources if he can make those quarterly reports look good. But there’s no heart there.

He had his flaws, sure, but we won’t see care from the ownerships eyes the way we did with Ed. It was a business to him, too, I’m not kidding myself, but he sure did love a winner. That’s gone. We miss it.

Hilferty is in the Ed Snider role, not Comcast. Hilferty thinks a beautiful collaboration is taking place and he thinks Tortorella is the "spiritual guider" of the team. They hire someone who is unqualified to be the team President who has publicly stated that the team is the gold standard of the NHL. They have an inexperienced GM who doesn't appear to be any kind of a check and balance on any of that and appears to be more and more on board every day. Brier's comments on Michkov and how he is going to be handled was absurd.

Who is ultimately responsible for hiring these people in charge? At the end of the day until Comcast big wigs call for a cleansing nothing will change.
