He gave up the puck but Bell was too slow to be out there for that much ice.
Mews looked awesome, made some great plays, threw some hits. You can see how smart Misa is, he finds open ice all the time. Looked good with Parekh in OT. Liked Morton and Strongrens game, both have good chances of getting games with the Flames. Laing had some good shifts, used his size out there, his family was sitting in front of me. For me, by far the best Flame was Silvy (sp), he created chances, killed penalties, should have been out in OT instead of Bell. Right shot center, that sees the ice really well.
Going to the battle of Alberta tonight. I’m sure the nerve have settled for the kids and they should start the game on time.

Agreed on Mews. Had some well-timed dives into the O-zone.

Liang actually looked pretty good covering for a defenceman on a 2-on-2. Never too late to change positions!

Thanks Trevor. Pissing rain here so no bike ride to Penticton. Do recognize a lot of players on the Oil. I’d expect the Flames to be more ready to start the game. 2 goals on 6 shots to start wasn’t looking very good for them. Then they took over for 10-12 minutes til Winnipeg woke up near the end of the First.
Agree Morton should see some time with the big team, Strongren as well. I’d be dissappointed if they didn’t give Basha a game or 2.
Almost time to leave, I’ll post my thoughts tomorrow.

Great game last night.
Basha continues to impress, his board work and how he finds open ice is underrated.
Hunter B looked confident out there tonight, another steal from Vancouver.
Parekh had a better game, bounced one off the post.
Can’t say enough about Ciona, he’s looks faster than last year, never gives up on the puck. Should get some time on the 4 th line this year.
Game could have easily been 5-1 if the Flames would have scored on a few of the tap ins.

Hopefully we get a look at some of these guys with the big team.
