Kaprisov is not really an explosive skater, but he does have excellent edge work so he's very stable and agile. Keeps moving to open areas which is a very underrated trait. Believe Barzal is actually the fastest measured puck carrier in the league.

A lot can change in the two years he has left on his contract on the off chance that there is some legitimacy to this rumor. I'll withhold any excitement

It's past the point of maximizing his earnings though. Accepting the 64 million would've maximized his earnings. He hasn't earned 8 million a year yet and that's paying him on potential.

He's held out for too long and is hurting his earning potential now. Players in any sport who hold out this long rarely get what they're looking for. Who's the last player to actually win when attempting this? Yashin?

Trade Sway to Utah I think that would work for both teams. Colorado could work . That Kaprizov rumor has been out there for awhile. The Wild have Khusnutdinov and Yurov is coming next year. Two players that Kaprizov knows well.The Wild are hoping to dip into the free agent market next year when they get some cap space. Lots of moving parts here and we’ll see how it plays out.

This here. If Swayman is looking to 'reset' the goalie RFA valuation, it means he's asking for compensation that really no GM would find palatable. That's the whole point of resetting the market. You'd have to *really* believe in a 25 year old who has played in 130 odd games for the next 7-8 years. Tough spot for the Bruins to go from a perspective of embarrassing wealth at the position to complete uncertainty.

Watch out if Swayman gets 9+ on his RFA deal.
Currently the highest value contract a goalie has been signed to so early in their career is John Gibson, 6.4M*8, signed as a 25yo with arb rights - just like Swayman. 6.4 to 8, let alone 9, is a huge jump in value. I only say this because if Ullmark decides to play a similar kind of hardball, his UFA comparables will not be Saros and Hellebuyck but Bob and Price.
