Not the best competition but I was very happy with how noticeable Kakko was! One of the best players on the ice all night.

Different position, but Othmann reminds me of young JT Miller.

Team is off today, so I wouldn't expect any updates on Panarin until tomorrow. But as I mentioned last night, it sounds like the #NYR are optimistic this was more of a precautionary measure than anything serious.

I am beginning to believe more and more through the pre-season that Othmann fits more the mold the Rangers need in the lineup than Kakko. Not that I do not like Kakko, but player fit for team need is important.

If Othmann is ready to move up, than it may be smart to shop Kakko more aggressively. Trade for more D prospects.

One game Othmann plays physically, the other skillfully. If he could do both regularly every game, he'd be inked into the lineup.

Until there is an injury or trade, he should start it he AHL and play big minutes there in Hartford. I do not want him on the main roster is he sits in the press box or plays five minutes a game on the 4th line.

They've already said he's not going to play on the 4th line. So it's either top 9 or Hartford
