"The shove" This was a nothing scenario and it was hardly a shove. Marchand will be just fine and he didn't think anything of it.

There are far more things to talk about with this team. They will right the ship but dear god, outside of the 4th line this team has not been very threatening. Not enough forwards are willing to carry the puck through the neutral zone so we are relying on the Defense to push the pace. Mcavoy and Lindholm are the only two that feel capable of breaking out of the zone. (Lohrei too)

This team needs some quickness and skill. AND much more from the Frederic, Geekies and Coyles of the team. Felt like they were in quicksand last night compared to Dallas.

Some might not agree but the loss of Gryz, yes GRYZ, Debrusk and Heinen is slowing this team down on the breakout. Considerably.

Welcome to the Black (and Gold Penalty) Parade.

Team has problems, but Bruins would still be struggling even if they still had Gryz.

I do not miss Gryz at all.

Lol yeah because gryz is adding so much to his new team. Good riddance, he wouldn't be adding anything other than more goals against to this scenario.

Problem is also with who Sweeney decided to add. Went all in on size other than Lindholm which was a need at C. Shoulda coulda woulda paid debrusk what he got. Oh well. He could a signed a short term skill player, but Sweeney needed to add more 6'2+ people.

This is more regression from the post Bergeron era. This is the character of the team with Marchand as captain for better or worse. Buckle up and crack a few extra cold ones, it's going to be a long season.

This, love Marchy, but he is not captain material. Then again, no idea who on the team is a better choice. Seriously, is Marchy as captain going to get in someone's face about taking stupid penalties???

not gonna panic this early, lotta new parts but Lindholm is looking more like a #2 center not a #1. I dont miss Gryz or Debrusk. both were less than consistant, and Henen I'm really happy for, theu couldnt have paid him that. They only need to get things sorted out for the playoffs.
Not sure what going on with Hampus though, . he looks like he's here for a paycheck

Not panicking yet, just calling it like it is at the moment. If the ship hasn't been righted by Thanksgiving then stick a fork in them, their done.

Still on beer...if things really head south then I'll be switching to scotch which will make for some very rough work days the morning after.

20 games. Every year this is what I give it before I will be overtly pessimistic. Sure we can point out flaws here and there, and the penalties do suck. At the same time, we knew regression post-Bergeron was coming. We are still in it and we cant expect them to come out of the gate and win 10 out of the first 12 anymore. Kinda been spoiled in that sense.

It's a different group than last year. I actually think some early adversity is a good thing. We've seen them cakewalk the season and the end result of that. It's too early for doom and gloom.

The penalties are a problem as well as special teams. However it is a long season. They need to stay in the race and tread water a bit before we start firing people and trading guys.

Ending the Riley Tufte experiment seemed to be the right call. Probably time for Max Jones to get the old yeller as well. These guys were not helping.

E. Lindholm and Zadorov will adjust and find their groove here. Just needs time.

There are guys that should be giving more. Pavel Zacha invisible as usual. Coyle and Geekie and are two others that need to step up.

Lastly Frederic. Kastelic is what Frederic should be. Hardnosed, gritty, in your face. This kid is invisible far far too much. Right now, not interested in extending him. Let's see where he's at in the spring.

Part of me feels bad for Tufte. I liked parts of his game and he never seems to really get a shot at the NHL level. Having said that, he hasn't done enough to earn it. Agree on Jones, already done with him.

Need a ton more from the middle 6. Cant play the 4th line for 18 minutes the entire season although that might be slightly entertaining.

Honestly I would watch Kastelic play for 18 mins a night. Highly entertaining. Even better when Zadorov is on the ice too. At least they (frank)ing hit people.

I find it hard to blame the slow start on Marchand being the captain. He has been the vocal leader for the Bruins for well over 10 years... and has always been very heavily involved with bringing in the young players. Marchand is perfectly capable of holding players accountable.

As far as his play though, you can definitely see that he is frustrated on the ice. Feel like the surgeries have done a number to his game and he's now feeling it. He doesn't have the balance and hands, he once had. He's still solid but the elite level of play from Marchand might be a thing of the past. Hope not, maybe it is just early season rust but he seems off balance a lot. Used to be impossible to knock him off the puck.

That line has brought it every night and they should get more playing time. That is a sneaky fast line that hasn't been afraid to battle. Until the rest of the team follows suit, keep giving them shifts.

Koepke has filled that fast 4th liner role perfectly.

Not blaming the slow start on Marchy (that is all on Monty), but I stand by my position Marchy is not captain material...you can't ignore the body of work. I love Marchy and glad he's on the team. I think he warrants HOF inclusion but would not be surprised at all if he doesn't get in due to his antics. Do you think it's appropriate for your Bruins captain to have licked the face of opposing players, not once, but twice? The clear slew foot penalties, the numerous suspensions. Again, can't ignore the body of work. I agree with you on his support for new players, work ethic, being vocal, etc. But being captain includes setting the true professional standard in ALL aspects (think Z or Bergy)...nobody could ever claim that has always been Marchy's forte.

The guy is in his mid to late 30's and had 3 surgeries in the 3 different areas of his body in the offseason. I think we can give him a little grace. It's too early to start panicking and tossing blame around.

Some guys were clearly not making the cut in Tufte and Jones. One has been handled.

I know some of us are tough guys who go a day or 2 on short sleep but I'd like to see you immeadiately at 100% let alone 40% after that.

I’m not blaming him at all but I can see that he’s frustrated with his own play. Just an observation. Which I’m also attributing to the surgeries.

The likelihood of him getting back to peak Marchand is slim but he’s still effective. The effort is always there with Marchand. I was coming the defense of his leadership abilities.
