They will be key contributors in 6 years when the Flyers hope they are cup contenders.
Any RYJO update? seems like the league and flyers are colluding on cap circumvention. Will any teams start to ask why this hasn't been addressed yet?
looks like ryjo will get his full money and not count against the cap all year way things stand today. sets up an interesting future precedent if it plays out like this.

The Flyers have been overextending and overplaying Sanheim. That's the reason why his TOI is so high. |

No, neither players are on LTIR. Johansen's contract has been terminated pending appeal.

Just because a couple of pundits think it’s a “fantasy” team doesn’t make the overwhelmingly sentiment that both TK and Sanheim don’t belong a real thing. Leafs fans are pissed because Taveras and O’reilly didn’t make it….most of these guys have not even watched the Flyers play this year. I have and I actually don’t even think Sanheim should be considered the 7th man on D….he should easily be in the top 6 on his over all play up till now…he’s been that good. TK is playing as well or better than most of that forward group….that’s saying a lot when you consider who’s on it.
I will go one further….considering where the Flyers are and their lack of relevancy both TK and Sanheim had to be even better to be considered. That’s how well these two have played. Good on the organizational group in Canada for getting this right, |

There is a ton of misconceptions on how these teams are formed and why some players are picked over others. It's not just pick all the best players and throw him out there. The GM's in consultation with the coaches are trying to form a team that can gel quickly. They will have virtually zero practice. That's why in some cases you see linemates who already play together selected. A big factor in picking Sanheim is that he not only is playing well but he can play both sides and he plays in all situations.

I'm Canadian and I think both guys are solid additions to this team. Note I said team, and not all-star squad.
What's confusing is yesterday Ek said that the US not including Caufield was absolutely ridiculous and proof that something is seriously wrong. It's the same argument. Caufield is not going to be a top 6 scoring winger on team USA. Connor and Tkachuk are likely your top two LW options. You don't want Caufield as your bottom 6. He doesn't PK. He doesn't take faceoffs. He's small.
Canada made the same decision. Do we want Bedard on our 4th line. No way. Give me Konecny to kill penalties, and be aggressive on a forecheck. So you criticize Canadians for not understanding why they included Konecny...but you say Team USA is ridiculous for snubbing Caufield... |

Tk and sanheim absolutely deserved to be picked. The Toronto hockey media has almost no appreciation of many players on non Canadian teams and it shows in the discourse when you watch or read online.
Just reading coots gtg tonight and that sam is back healthy but feds to start. Likely easing Sam back in. Kolosov and feds have been solid during this period kudos to them |

He didn’t practice yesterday and it wasn’t certain whether he was banged up or whether it was a maintenance day. Apparently it was the latter. |

TK is a star player that has also made a crazy niche for himself on the PK. That's a rare combo that most Superstars don't have. Makes him valuable. Playing on a functional powerplay with guys like Michkov are showing his past numbers have been down because of lack of skill players.
Sanny has been playing out of his mind as of late. Honestly what stops me from saying he's a true #1 is the fact that I have not seen him play this level for long. If he can maintain, then well, Flyers might have their #1. All I know is that his contract now looks like a steal. |

Yes, and what other choice did they have with all the injuries on the backend? |

The Flyers have had 6 defenseman in the lineup for every game. They had choices to play other players more and Sanheim less. It could be an issue down the line.
