Thanks tj.
Per the Rangers beginning their current extended slump in Calgary & Edmonton, resulting in Drury's FOR SALE memo circulated shortly later with Trouba being dealt, it felt like the Trade Deadline was just approaching. That prompted me to show up again due to a certain member here likely already posting his multi daily Rangers trade proposals.
But I haven't seen one relating to a return of Patrick Kane; at least not yet. - RangerSaver

Stirring the pot I see
I don’t think as of right now he’ll be buying at TDL. He can’t risk any more picks/prospects. Unless it’s a prospect for prospect deal |

Is it even worth going for it this season. I would almost rather just rides it out keep the cap space till the offseason then blow it up more and make moves. Trying to buy now for a core and team that isn’t built to win seems dumb |

A GM on the hot seat isn’t thinking this way though |

I think that happened, but Jim can tell you which game. - Fenrir
Keenan benched Leetch for the entire 3rd against NJ in game 5. Pulled Richter too.
Messier actually made Keenan apologize.

He just traded his captain and is further away from winning a cup than he ever has been in his 4 seasons as GM. |

Judging by how Drury pretty much ran Trouba out of NY, it turns out that the Rangers troubles weren't Trouba's fault after all. - Wingsfan61
2 things can be true at once here. Drury has a job to make the team better and after last season the writing was on the wall that moving Trouba who was not signed by Drury, was an important part of moving forward. He did his job and put a deal together and the information was leaked for leverage purposes...when Trouba found out he exercised his right and put Detroit on his list. Maybe going back to his home state was never an option for Trouba but he strong armed the Rangers into keeping him by tanking his own value by saying he would refuse to report. He (frank)ed the team in doing that...
The dust has yet to settle in this locker room and it is too early to lay too much blame at any one person's feet. Yes Drury is in charge and the buck stops there but the players need to get in line and do for the organization that is paying them all fairly well.

I think he’s smart enough to realize just how many better teams there are. You got 3 in the division, and probably 3 in the Atlantic.
Imagine me saying don’t go for it? lol. That’s not normal. This team needs too much to even consider it.
I don’t think he’s getting fired, Lavy is possible |

Who is he going to trade for? What position? There are holes all over this lineup |

In my opinion the only way he should be a buyer now and spend the cap space would be to replace core pieces, not add to this current core. I also recognize the difficulty of this with NMCs but it's not impossible.
If he can make a big time trade like Tkachuk or someone else (I'd prefer not JT Miller) I think doing that sooner rather than later would be prudent. If he's going to trade for another RW for Mika/Kreider I will throw up |

It comes down to the players holding themselves accountable and start playing hard nose hockey.
Mika and Miller need to get their heads out of their asses.
Miller was never a physical player but he has to take the body sometimes. Maybe a change to a forward position will help him
If what the reports about Mika are true about his feeling being hurt, he needs to grow up. He has been playing in front of crowds for at least 15 years now, he cant be having butterflies all of a sudden. |

Desperate teams that Drury should be looking at trying to trade with:
Buff: Dahlin, Power, Byram on the left side seems like overkill and we need a top LD badly
Ottawa: Chabot at LD, some forwards perhaps (forget Brady it’s a pipe dream)
Nashville: Forsberg would be the dream. Josi paired with Fox LOL. O’Reilly? Parsinnen, Novak, nyquist, lauzon?
Detroit: Yuck
Boston: borderline but Frederic would be sweet. Hampus lindholm is a pipe dream
Utah: if only kesselring played LD |

Lauzon might be perfect for the rangers. That’s dude hits like crazy.
If the rangers want to add some spice AND leadership, go get Marchand. Maybe it costs Kreider. You trade Kreider that makes Zibanejad possibly want out too.

Because you brought them up
Idk they seem to need some changes too. They’ve been getting smacked around, they lost 8-1 last night
Marchand is a UfA I believe. So that’s beneficial for them to have an extra year of Kreids |

🙄
I think on paper that’s the most logical trade that could possibly happen
You got two teams going in the wrong direction in need of a shake up
Two players almost UFAs
Two players who play the same position
Two players that I think make the same amount of money
Two players who could possibly want changes of scenery from their teams
Idk it doesn’t seem like an impossible trade to me |

I think it's infinitely less likely of a trade than even Brady Tkachuk for several reasons, mainly having to do with who each player is to their franchise. I don't think it's impossible Kreider is traded. I don't think it's impossible that Marchand is traded (but way less likely than Kreider). The New York Rangers trading Chris Kreider to the Boston Bruins for Brad Marchand is just a big no way Jose from me.

I saw this real quick and I thought Kreider was getting traded to San Jose

This right here.
Drury is still executing his vision of the team through cap hell from previous GMs. I still think he will be trying to move on from high contract core pieces that are SOFT players. He has been trying to make this team tougher from the outset, but how can you do that when you can't even move the soft pieces due to NMC and contract issues. |
