Need to move on from Kakko. The Kakko that Seattle is seeing did not exist in New York. The reason why at this point is moot. Kakko was a 3rd line winger here with the Rangers. A 2nd pairing defenseman is far more valuable than a 3rd line winger. Lets all move on already......

He was given plenty of chances, it didnt work here the way Rangers fans and management wanted it to.

A secondary in a 6-2 blowout loss.

Rangers mishandled his development a bit but he’s on the same pace as he was in NY. He just gets more minutes on a terrible small market team. Easier to play there.

He won’t be someone like buch where we say he’s the one that got away. Truly don’t think he becomes a major game changer. That being said they didn’t have to trade him and the return was underwhelming

A full time defenseman now plus 2 draft picks. Like Jan said this will be judged in the future. Happy for KK but he was pouty in NY. Not everyone can play in the big lights of NY.

Only 17% of third round pick ever play more than 100 NHL games and forget about the 6th rounder.

Id keep KK over Borgen any day of the week.

Is it like fantasy football where they move to the back of the line after you claim a guy? Lol

I think he is another Zac jones fwiw. Seems like they are finally happy with the current 6 guys

So why the hell do we get so bent out of shape when Drury trades picks? Lol. I know why, because he can’t win with you people!!

My god this place with this trade is never going to stop 🤦

Because TJ...because.

Agree on Brannstrom, that he is just a swedish Zach Jones...however he does have a better draft pedigree and the Rangers have the space to house an asset whom they may be able to move at the deadline.

Who knows though...maybe he and Fox mesh well and move the puck quick enough to play minimal, in zone defense.

Trading 1st and second round picks for aged veterans is what pisses people off. Trading the second overall pick for a third round pick is ass backwards.

Draft position kinda stops mattering once they've been around for awhile. Brannstrom was drafted in 2017 and has just about 300 games under his belt. He is what he is at this point and where he was drafted doesn't matter to anyone. Oliver Wahlstrom was drafted a year later, and earlier in the first round, and I don't think there's a single person that watches him play and cares that he was the 11th overall pick.

Oh, I don't disagree. It may hold more clout on the FA market than on the trade market but GMs are more willing to take a flyer on a former first rounder than a former 3rd rounder.

But to your point. A former 2OA pick is just that. Kakko was not that pick's worth now that he has played in the league and the return was obviously diminished.

I mean the defense looks the best as it has all season, with Borgen. He doesn’t count in the trade??

Seattle is 3-7-1 since they got Kakko btw

It’s funny you say that about Wahlstrom…because when the rangers drafted Kravtsov me and jimmy were pissed they didn’t take Wahlstrom lol in hindsight Bouchard should’ve been the Rangers pick

Drurys fault even tho Gorton/clark made the pick

I couldn't care less what Seattle's record is.
But, I want to see Kakko grow and succeed, simply because he never did anything wrong. Except perhaps his comments just before being traded. But, I don't fault him for that. He was getting a raw deal and for no reason of his own doing. He was a good kid and a good teammate here and always tried to give his best effort. I wish him well.

I really thought we were getting Bouchard there!! I remember screaming "WHO THE (frank) IS KRAVTSOV?!?!?!?" the second they made the call. Then I got real excited!! Then I got real disappointed. Then I got real angry.

the whole point is with trade is the rangers desperately needed a defensman. It’s just goes completely lost in here. And he actually may be working out, where he AND miller may be a thing. A D pair they can rely on

I wish Kakko well too I’m glad I don’t have to be frustrated by him anymore lol

If you could get one person in your life to murder without ramifications, mine would be Gord Clark lol

Next wouldn’t be Brukie, nor Tom, contrary to belief

Kakko was never going to prosper in NY. I wish him well in Seattle but the NYR have a team to rebuild and he isn't going to be part of it.

Does it have to be hockey related? My ex wife would be on the list but there's one guy that would be above even her.
