A few times, I think they overpassed when they had chances. Tk should have buried that chance as well. That’s normally a lock for him |

Gonna be a boring summer. Briere uses all of his picks for prospects and extensions for everyone. |

You guys keep beating this dead horse. Not much is likely to happen at the TDL. They dont have any rentals to move. You have only 2 potential trade targets in Risto and Laughton and both have term and are harder to move mid season.
The return we get if they are moved is not going to be game changing. They are still going to be a team lacking elite skill and the return wont bring them elite skill |

Briere has done jack poop to bring in higher end skill.
Not committing to draft low enough to get it.
Sitting on his ass when guys like Sergachev, Askarov, or Jiricek were there to take a smart gamble on.
What’s the plan here? Trot up to pick 13th for a few years, and call it a day once they can overpay a couple FA’s?

Yes, that is exactly the plan. What GM of a team with a 10% chance of making the playoffs states that moving a player like Ristolainen would leave a big hole? That's complete incompetence.

I saw it as DB posturing, talking up his player. If a team wants RR, make a good offer.
But again, I am not cynical like some are. |

Its About winning games yet what games was Canada winning? Luchenko played better than many Canadian World Jr players, Despite a limited 4th line role. Canada's leading point scorer had 3 points....
I dont watch Bonk so Im not sure what his strengths or weakness are but if a coach is not playing a guy to his strengths how are you concerned with winning? That is exactly like putting Michkov in the role of a defensive checker. That is not his strength and he is not going to play well in that role. The primary role for Michkov should be offensive and whatever Bonk's strengths are should be his primary role. Doesnt mean the coach cant have him do other things but you should be taking advantage of a guys strengths.
The fact that Canada did so poorly in the tourny should evidence enough that the coach was out of his depths. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
to use on of your quotes, it doesn't matter.
The coaches on those teams could care less what future role they have in the nhl. they are trying to win that game. They will use those players how they see fit not how the flyers or any other team see fit.

It's called trying to negotiate from a side of strength, why wouldn't any gm try to do that.
Doesn't mean it's gonna work but definitely try |

Their hands were tied with Askarov. He wanted an NHL job. Flyers didnt have the room. Thjey already commited to Fedotov before he was made available. Sergachev was not possible. We didnt have the cap space. Flyers were reportedly in on Jiricek. You all female dog and complain that elite talent isnt available at 13th then cry that the Flyers passed over a 1st pair Dman in Biuim so either Biuim isnt a 1st pair guy or you are all full of poop that elite talent is not available
Draft and develop that is the plan. This team can easily be a bottom 10 team. |
