All these early trades happening....good or bad for the sens?

Gets me wondering who (and what position) we should target.

neither, the trades don't affect OTT trying to stay in playoff spot and OTT don't have the trade capital to make major moves.

that is how you PK, not the passive crap OTT normally does, being aggressive in a smart way got OTT 3 SH goals in 2 games.

3 posts by OTT this game wow, this could be 6-0. Hartman needs a long suspension.

But Hartman running around like he was before that.....Sens need to get bigger and meaner on that 4th line.

But a really good game. PP is firing. Perron looks to be coming into form.

Another good game. Good focus right to the end. The defensive structure this team is playing with is great to see. Slowly, the offence is starting to be added. And the special teams play is on a nice streak lately.

Nice to see Batherson score ..... big sigh of relief by him after the goal.

I am starting to believe that Merilainen will be our goalie of the future now. So calm and steady in net. But I still think they will send him down to the AHL once Ullmark is back.
Why?
Because we can't assume Ullmark can remain healthy so we still need Forsberg in case. It is too difficult to carry 3 goalies and Forsberg will not clear waivers.

Somebody already mentioned here that Perron is looking better, slowly. My only concern is Josh Norris , who left the game late with a tweek of something.

My final point is that I like the Klevin/Matinpalo pairing. Matinpalo had one of his better games.I would like to this this pairing remain (which would mean Hamonic as #7 once Jensen returns).

5 players from one draft are regulars in NHL, has any other team ever had that from 1 draft. when reinhardt was on the team that made it 6 players from 1 draft.

Last night might have been the best game of Sanderson's NHL career. He is not spectacular. He just does everything right. He sees the ice really well and he is a brilliant skater. Kleven is a solid NHL Dman and will mover up into a top 4 slot as early as next or even by the playoffs this year.

Sandersons passes out of the zone are so precise. Never seems to make a bad one lately. Never panics.

Very impressed with Leevi. So calm in the net.

When Ullmark comes back he will need starts. And Leevi can't be idle.

Only way Forsberg hits waivers is if the Sens need the extra $1.8 million. And he will pass waivers....not a starter, too expensive to be a backup, and no one needs a goalie right now outside of NJ. It isn't like earlier in the year.

Say what you will about PD, but you must give him credit where credit is due. The man certainly had a strange tenure in Ottawa. It is difficult to ascertain what his internal limitations / directions were with EM as the owner. As such, it is difficult to determine which trades / decisions were impacted on that front.

I think it is fair to say that he did set this franchise on the right path with many of his drafting choices and through some trades. Was he perfect on that front? Certainly not. I have never met a perfect person.

I think the new ownership had PD figured out rather quickly. PD's exit allowed Staios (Martin) to make some additions and subtractions to the line up, provide a new coaching voice and instill the current culture. I am not sure PD would have been capable of the last mile but he certainly had an impact getting to where the team is now.

The deals for Timmy, Brady and Sanderson look like steals now. If all three had signed bridge deals, the Sens wouldn't be able to sign them with the upcoming cap raises. Best thin PD did.
