Need Cuylle to heat back up. I’m sure something is being looked at to build a new 3rd line. He had 21 pts in the first 26 games and just 6 in the last 27. Increased production from the top 6 helps, but if they’re going to make the playoffs need 3 lines who can score.

Wonder what happens if Jones has another solid game
- picklerick

He plays again tomorrow, possibly for Urho. Then the break hits, meaning all bets are off as it if he remains in the lineup

I see Cuylle as a perfect 3rd liner if you are building a cup contender. I know a lot see more potential in his offense but I don’t think he will score consistent enough to be a main stay in the top 6. Like you said make him the center piece of the 3rd line moving forward

lol true 😞

Wait is Lindgren really out? Or you’re messing with us

- Slimtj100

I believe that was a response to the "what happens if Jones plays well?" inquiry.

It sucks cause Sam Bennett is UFA this summer. He would be the perfect 3C but someone is going to pay him stupid money this summer and I don’t want Drury to be the one

I’m calling Jake Evans and Matheson to the NYR to fill the voids.

These guys aren’t perfect but are good enough to get it done. Matheson especially since he’s already a top pair guy and he’s signed next year pretty reasonably

Anyone care about the SB? I think eagles get it done. Barkley is the player who can beat KC and piss all giants fans off for all of eternity 😬

I still don’t think they are gonna be buyers at the deadline. They will run with the group they have, maybe call up someone like Othman once smith gets moved. Filling out the 3C role seems like a summer thing. Unless they find another great deal like Miller that Drury can’t pass up

Idk I think they buy within reason. Like nothing too crazy. Obviously winning more games determines the direction for this year. I could see smith and Lindgren get traded and then flip the picks they get for them to a MTL for those two as an example. Matheson would be a good pick up imo. He’s having a bad year so the value is there to pounce and the commitment to him isn’t long at all

They probably can’t trade firsts right now since one is up in the air. So buying will be limited you’d think.

Smith seems like the kind of player who would make a good center. Surprised to see he’s never played it.

Kreider-Smith-Cuylle would be a strong 3rd line if that were the case. Trading him and Lindgren for a 3C wouldn’t bother me at the deadline as they would be able to swap an area of strength for an area of weakness. Bring up Othmann or Berard to fill that spot.

Miller could get another shot with Fox as he’s playing so much better, and Jones-Borgen wouldn’t offend me.

I can't agree less. He's taking the spot of someone like Berard or Othmann while playing hurt, staying hurt longer, and being bad because of it
- picklerick

So Kreids is so injured he literally flew up the ice , smoked the defense and scored the winner, please don’t be a coach, ever

I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a Miller extension soon. His offense abilities have really improved the last month or so. Thank goodness because it wasn’t looking good for awhile there, in hindsight probably because of Trouba being pretty bad. Kinda quietly he has 6 pts in his last 8 games. With a huge goal in there. I don’t see that pair breaking up imo, Miller Borgen. Schneider could move up with Fox tho. Then they’d need another RH. I can’t remember when it was, but Schneider played the left side for a short time and wasn’t too bad

Lindgren really is the only defender holding them back at the moment, just not sure the organization sees it that way. Jones has gotten screwed IMO, I don’t recall him having a horrendous game all season. It’s too bad he’s not a little bigger because him a Fox could be a lot of fun together.

I 100% agree the org values Lindgren much more than the fans do. Without a doubt that’s true. That’s why I’m not sure it’s a forgone conclusion he gets traded and isnt resigned as the 3rd pair guy instead. Like a compromise where he isn’t on the top pair anymore. Personally I could live with that

I don’t think Lindgren would do very well on the open market so he might be ok with that. Maybe get a few extra years but the AAV is pretty low

BIG Eagles fan. I think Tony is, too.

I’m cautiously optimistic, but I don’t like how most of America is rooting for the Eagles…

Their D is so much fun to watch. Sleeper part of their success this season. should be a fun game!
