I hate sounding pessimistic but the problem I have with the glimmer twins is that, how many "this is what's going to turn them around" plays have we had between both of them? We know Kreider is injured and we know Mika is between the eyes. I'm hoping the time apart and maybe some tough love from Miller will turn it around but im way too used to the inconsistent play of the both of them over the years.

Well there’s basically no way raantanen is staying in Carolina so one of the twins has to go

I like how everyone on the internet decided that we all hate Kreider and Zib now and that's the way we all have to think

the internet is awesome

We know what we have from Mika and CK20, its the defense that is the question mark, can you say, yeah that is a Cup winning defense?

I don't understand how the hell we "know what we have from Mika" when he's playing right wing for the first time ever the last few games and he's looks like completely different player

I'd argue, right now, we have absolutely no idea what we have in Mika Z

The move to wing takes defensive pressure off him. Miller provides that physical presence. Having two centers allows for a left handed draw and right handed draw on the line. Small sample size has been good. If that continues, a 3c may be the next target.

I hope Mika excels in this role and Kreider gets healthy. Best case scenario would be limited usage in the 4 Nations and his back recovers a bit. Time will tell.

I think having JT on the line is giving him a lift more than the position switch, although i think it doesn't hurt to reduce Mika's responsibilities

He should've been on LTIR and backed out of the 4 nations for sure. There's just no good reason to have him play in this condition

Mika has been good on the wing. Kreider is hurt and should’ve been on IR.

This is his first time being invited to play for the USA since Juniors, right?
I agree about his usage, but it's not hard to understand why he hasn't pulled out. (like TJ )

Edit: trivial sidenote - when I was confirming the above I noticed that Kreids currently has the same number of points and PIM's for his career (571). Kinda neat.

I can't agree less. He's taking the spot of someone like Berard or Othmann while playing hurt, staying hurt longer, and being bad because of it

Remember back when there was chatter that Mika deserved recognition for Selke consideration? I member.
