Love the post few days ago basically saying we don't want to mix in politics here but then goes on write 1000 words on politics.

Now we are at a point that due to the volume of political posts and how this website is monetized by traffic we act like that original rule never existed.

This tournament was amazing, even better than anyone expected! (even the diehards that knew it would be great). I've been to a lot of big games and the CAN v SWE and CAN v USA in MTL were two of the best moments I've witnessed. Soooooo glad we decided to go.

I do tend to agree that doing this mid-season was risky and put undue pressure and stress on the bodies of players under contract to perform for their own teams. We saw the games live and right from the first CAN v SWE puck drop these guys were going hard...ALL OUT! There will be a lot of ice-packs, physio, etc. this week for these guys and they all have to go back to their regular teams/job tomorrow.

Team USA was a force! They were bigger stronger faster than anyone else, and just lost on "one of those plays". They will be back stronger than ever and hockey in the USA is an absolute freight train, coming at full speed (so maybe CAD shouldn't get too cocky).

The NHL won't hit the same for several weeks now. We just watched some of the best hockey we'll ever see. Such high percentage play, so disciplined, so intense, so mistake free. Thank you hockey for existing this past 2weeks! What a sport...

Tourney was great. However, it should be taking place at the beginning of August. That is when many players start getting back into shape so it will boost their efforts. If they get hurt, they would still have several weeks before camp and 2 months before season openers.

I don't agree with the booing of any national anthem. Nor do I agree with elected leaders attempting to undermine longstanding allegiances between countries with infammatory and unnecessary rhetoric.

There are numerous historical instances of Canadians assisting Americans, and vice-versa. Your President and his recent treatment and disrespect towards your strongest ally is where you should be looking at and pointing the blame towards. The poster I was responding to indicated that it was Trudeau lovers who were booing the national anthem. The booing had nothing to do with Trudeau and everything to do with what has gone on south of the border with Trump during his latest administration.

My point was that Canadians were not booing the U.S. national anthem when Biden was in office. This is only recently happening because of what has gone on down south.

Let me be clear to you here. I am not a Trudeau or Trump supporter. I do not approve of either's tactics when it comes to governing their respective countries. I didn't say a word about people hating Trudeau and calling for change. Instant classic is a fair description. For a meaningless tournament the 4 Nations Cup significantly outperformed expectations. I don't think a lot of Canadian fans are appreciating just how close that game was this morning, but you'll get your revenge shot soon enough. McDonalds is going to have to work that goal into their next Matthews/ McDavid ad.
