Yeah we may be cooked.
This injury will either rally the troops or send them into a tailspin.
I'm guessing a trade is imminent, just hope we don't get fleeced too bad.

If Jack is done for the season, so is this fragile ass team. They will quickly slip to a wild card spot only to lose it. This team cannot create or drive play without #86.

All the more reason to get a top six forward.

This is really bad news. Lately Jack seemed to be the only one to score. Even if he comes back in Post season, he is one hit away from disaster. I don't see anything in current trade market to make up for him, other than Rantanen, and that will not happen. Devs might make the playoffs, but it could be a short visit. More worried about the long term implications of Jack's health. It just feels like a serious shoulder injury every year...fingers crossed that something miraculous happens.

Surprised we haven’t heard any updates yet. Unless he didn’t fly home until today and will see doctors tomorrow.

Or they’re just keeping it under wraps

Considering the player we’re concerned about, keeping the fans in limbo is just wrong. Trust me, they know what the issue is already.

……And jack’s fragility is a definite issue. I know this was a freak accident, but he’s getting major shoulder injuries every season.

Small deal: Hauser just got dealt to Edmonton for LW Shane Lachance. It was a 3 teamer with Boston sending Trent Frederic to the Oilers thru NJ. NJ retained 50% of his salary. LaChance is a former 6th rounder; captain this year of BU and is 21 years old, 6'5 and 220 lbs.

One scout's write-up on him:
After spending two seasons post-draft in the USHL while he figured out how to use his big, heavy, 6-foot-5 body, Lachance became Youngstown’s captain and led the team to a Clark Cup. Now he’s a captain again as a sophomore at BU and it’s really starting to come together for him at the NCAA level. He had a respectable freshman year at BU last year but he has been the Terriers’ most consistent forward this year. He’s a physically daunting player with a good feel around the net, a willingness to go plant himself there, and a knack for getting his stick on tips, redirects and rebounds. He’s showing more comfort on the puck and confidence on the attack as he tries to diversify his game beyond the stereotypical wall/net-front guy. He’s got a late-August birthday, which speaks to some of the runway he was given in junior to develop before going off to college as well. Lachance works hard, he supports play well, he plays off skill guys effectively, he’s good along the wall on the cycle, and there are some who believe he might become a classic big-man role player at the next level eventually. He has shown a little more of the pace/sense I wanted to see out of him this year and there’s a mold to work with there, for sure. He’s a well-liked player who plays with an identity and it’s not hard to imagine him as a bottom-six NHLer.

Unless he signs I don't see why we facilitated the trade

Normally you'd get some kind of draft pic or signed prospect or something but who knows

NJD don’t have the cap space to begin with AND they need 3rd line center and top six scoring winger. So why in the hell did NJD retain money?

I THINK WE ALL KNOW WHY

Bjs 4pts behind with 2 games in hand
Rags 6pts with 2 in hand

Devils are 26th in points percentage since Christmas

No guarantee Devils stay in playoffs

Like I said, they will quickly slip into a wild car spot only to lose that. This team is not playoff bound. And now Hamilton is out as well? It’s just like last year all over again just later in the season.
