Contract extension talks with the Broons fell off, supposedly he wanted more $ than they would offer. He has full veto power over any trade Boston made.
Marchand definitely wanted to come to FL.

I think that Marchand has a psychological block that will prevent him from coming to the Panthers. The first playoff series the Bruins won, the President's Trophy, and they had all the beloved players that Marchand loved. Bergeuron, Krachi and Ulmark. The Panthers barely made it to the playoffs, and still beat them in the first round. That was traumatic for Marchand because he knew that was the last season for Bergeuron. Then we beat them the following year, hands down. That instilled a hatred in him for the Panthers. Why would he join the enemy? It would be like asking all Panther fans to become Tampa Bay Lightning fans!
