There is an opening for a media outlet to gather fans - if they chose to be honest about the team.
The loyalists will always be there, but there is imo a large segment of the fanbase that doesn’t believe, or trust in this regime.
The same regime that fired only one man, and proclaimed changes from the rooftops while the rest of the cabal remains employed for years without accountability.
Philly media is incredibly soft on the Flyers, and there is an opening if someone dared to hold them to the fire. They wouldn’t get a soft pass from their beats if they played in a different market. |

Comcast buying and paying the Flyers media is a massive reason this has been allowed to continue and a huge reason why I feel the franchise is an absolute joke at this point. This has been going on back to bringing Panaccio into the studio for games. It’s definitely a front office tactic to deter blame and steer the narrative to their liking.
Think about it. Every person who’s covered the Flyers with any regularity ends up getting hired by Comcast and poof, suddenly they don’t hold ownership to any sort of standard anymore. (frank)ing cowards. That includes Bill. (frank)ing sell out. |

I mean, it’s not shocking to see Comcast trying to control the narrative first, and foremost. I agree with your post for sure.
I’m just saying. There are podcasts, or articles that are out there gaslighting fans into some notion that this is a successful approach, that the men in charge are competent.
Find me someone who writes, or hosts - who has the gall to hold them to the fire, and I’ll be pleased.
Bill sold out. STG sold out. BSH/PHLY did as well. This new thing Meltzer is starting up, I’m just picturing the drooling over the proud Flyer franchise. |

I think hextall had the approach we needed. It was just piss poor drafting on him and his scouts. I believe he wanted to burn it down completely but wasn’t allowed

I caught some of Mike Missanelli’s radio show last Wednesday. He said the exact same things you are. He called out Torts for not explaining benchings to players or media. He called out the media for being too soft on the Flyers. He called out the team for being so terrible for so many years. |

Wow Mikey Miss is still around.
Big win tonight as the Canes played last night. Probably a little disinterested. Backup goalie would think; the coach advising the players how important it is to finish strong to set the tempo to start next season. |

The problem is the flyers last nine games are charmin soft. That’s where they’ll make up lost ground and make the final charge for pick 11 |

Oh Bill is definitely a company man now. Full stop.
A year or two ago we were (rightfully) really getting on the alumni advisors ruining the franchise one day and Bill finally just snapped because he sees himself as buddies with all of them now.
Been on this site forever. Seen some absolutely batpoop stuff said. Only time I’ve ever seen Bill lose it. His integrity went out the window that day for me.
Pretty much the same story with whatever Flyers writer from the last 15 years you want to name though. It’s pathetic. |

10-15 years ago I thought Missanelli was wayyyyy too hard on the Flyers, particularly their management.
Turns out he was right the entire time. |

Bill provided us all with years of the best writing on hb. He deserves to be paid by the flyers organization for his knowledge, writing and efforts. I am not one to protect the media, as a Trumper I absolutely hate the agenda media can have but bill is untouchable to hold anything but high regard for. |

He was fired. Then the statiom laid off more people because of bad ratings. They then brought him back

Love the way Torts is out there telling everyone that he thinks Ersson’s not good enough to be a starter. |
