Why?

A new goalie + Grebenkin = Stanley Cup.

There is an opening for a media outlet to gather fans - if they chose to be honest about the team.

The loyalists will always be there, but there is imo a large segment of the fanbase that doesn’t believe, or trust in this regime.

The same regime that fired only one man, and proclaimed changes from the rooftops while the rest of the cabal remains employed for years without accountability.

Philly media is incredibly soft on the Flyers, and there is an opening if someone dared to hold them to the fire. They wouldn’t get a soft pass from their beats if they played in a different market.

Comcast buying and paying the Flyers media is a massive reason this has been allowed to continue and a huge reason why I feel the franchise is an absolute joke at this point. This has been going on back to bringing Panaccio into the studio for games. It’s definitely a front office tactic to deter blame and steer the narrative to their liking.

I caught some of Mike Missanelli’s radio show last Wednesday. He said the exact same things you are. He called out Torts for not explaining benchings to players or media. He called out the media for being too soft on the Flyers. He called out the team for being so terrible for so many years.

Oh Bill is definitely a company man now. Full stop.

A year or two ago we were (rightfully) really getting on the alumni advisors ruining the franchise one day and Bill finally just snapped because he sees himself as buddies with all of them now.

Been on this site forever. Seen some absolutely batpoop stuff said. Only time I’ve ever seen Bill lose it. His integrity went out the window that day for me.

10-15 years ago I thought Missanelli was wayyyyy too hard on the Flyers, particularly their management.

Bill provided us all with years of the best writing on hb. He deserves to be paid by the flyers organization for his knowledge, writing and efforts. I am not one to protect the media, as a Trumper I absolutely hate the agenda media can have but bill is untouchable to hold anything but high regard for.
