I think he was trying to take blame, but is too egotistical to fully do that. He had to throw in that it's not really his thing coaching a non-competitive team so that he could point the blame back at Danny and Jonsey for actively tanking the end of the season.

Wow, I would tend to believe this is not an amicable divorce. Briere is fully in charge now, no more Torts looking over his shoulder or acting like his peer.

I sure hope that Danny has planned for this day prior to Torts’ comments the other night. This is going to be a very important hire and will go a long way to define Danny as the GM.
