Mcgroats and koivunen called up to Pitt. Hopefully both play. Get a little exp in the big league before their Ahl playoff push.

Let's go! Now how these guys look, if they're ready and able to contribute, that would go a long way in making the team competitive if they added 1 in house middle six forwards on entry deals. Still badly need one of the goalies to be ready, and find a LHD and top 6 wing, etc.

Murashov could be ready for next year. He is looking solid. I agree on the free agent needs. Definitely defense and Top 6 winger. I think Broz could make the jump next year as well to the big leagues.

Now that Sid has set the all-time points per game/season mark, it's now about the future. If you’re going to play the kids, play them, Sully! Many of our veterans have made their fair share of boneheaded plays all year. No more excuses. Set the course for a top 5 pick!

(2) very physical LD, a center for Malkin's line and a head coach. That's it. If Dubas has a decent draft and can add those (4) -- it would be a super off season.

Ehh I think a year as the proper starter in the A might be best. They are also a good team so don’t need the big pens ruining his confidence. If for some reason Pitt is a goalie away from being a playoff team maybe I’d try him

Those feel aggressive to me. Murashov only has those 11 games and goalies rarely move up that quickly. Hopefully Blomqvist if he gets his game together.

Broz I also would think needs more than a year. I noticed he's tailed off some and is only 9th among forwards in points in WBS. Solid rookie year, but maybe not one and done.

During the year I could see a lot of these guys arrive, but not the start. Which makes planning for next year interesting. Need to bring in some competition, but Sully always chooses the vets in a competition.

The Pens LD is so clogged up with mediocre players. Shea, Konyachonak, and Graves all under contract. Need space for Pickering eventually too. That's why I'd aim for one. It's going to be a bit of a transitional year.

I like Timmons so far, but St. Ivany also looks to be trending positive and needs waivers, so maybe just gamble with him as a physical third pair, bring in one top 4 LD, hope Pickering takes the other eventually?

Hopefully they bury Graves (intended).

What's a realistic lineup we could put out there next year that should make the playoffs? They have so many mediocre to bad players still under contract, it's hard to see how they get back to being decent in less than 2 years.

That's why it's easier for me to see it in 26-27 than next year. Some of the vets leave to free up space. More likely the prospect system is ready to help day one. The goalie part is crucial and I wouldn't bet on it to start the season. They can take steps forward now by using their space to fill some holes.

I could see Dubas stepping up and attempting to get Marner because he's going UFA this year, but agree that everything else feels like 26/27.

Yohe says McG and Koivunen will play out the rest of the year with the Pens. Brunike in WB.

Color me shocked. I was sure these were just injury recalls.

Some veteran, coach, former player someone better take them aside and tell them to play with some balls. Try some in between the legs poop then spray the goalie if it doesn’t work out. Attempt the Michigan from center ice and high stick a guy on the way to the net. Make a (frank)ing impression.

With McGroarty playing with Sid and Rust, I think they are trying to see if they can Gel while trading raks.

I think that’s overthinking it. If we wanted to trade Raks we would have done it at the deadline. I think Dubas legitimately wants Rakell on the roster next year. Think this is more just putting McGroarty in the best position to sink or swim to give him a serious look.

EDIT: also Malkin is banged up so they might be trying to spread to talent if Malkin can’t go by moving Rakell down

I like it. Also Boko out for 6 months. Must tore bicep.

Mcgroats - Sid - rust
Koivunen - Rak - dewar
Tomasino - Hayes - acciari
Heinen - Lizotte - bemstrom

Like the top line. Hope Geno is back soon. Would love to see a koivunen G Rak line.

Edit - when I say I would love this, I say that based on what’s available. This lineup is terrible haha

I agree with this. They are missing their 2nd and 3rd line centers. I think they want to watch these guys with some talent there. Makes sense to spread them out.

Koivunen also getting top PP time. Great opportunity for both to show if they should be factored in for next year.

After seeing all of the lines, I agree with this too. I don’t want to be the one inventing rumors lol.
