Feel better...I have had two major concussions during my time. Once as a kid, the other in my late 20's. The headaches/migraines spanning from both were unreal. And yes...I saw sparkling stars when the impacts occurred. I felt like Sylvester the Cat after Tweety Bird whacked him in the head with a golf club. |

Ok, I'll bite and speculate on potential teams still playing:
Caps - rapidly aging, lots of UFAs. Jump start rebuild by moving Protas, Wilson, PLD for young prospects or draft picks. And yet tanking in Ovi's farewell season doesn't seem like something Ted would do.
Stars - 7 UFAs, have not yet gotten over the hump. Retool by moving a piece or two and accumulating some much needed draft assets.
Oilers - Need to plan for big raises for Bouchard, McDavid and get younger on the back end.

Caps already have gotten a jump on their rebuild.
Leonard, McMichael, Protas all under 20-24. Don’t forget that other Protas they have in the farm. So that 4 makes a nice, young core. PLD is still only like 26. Sandin 25.
They’re fine. Unless contracts become an issue, they won’t have to blow it up. if anything, letting Ovie, Backstrom, and Oshie run out the clock is just going to let them strike again soon at FAs. I think the latter two peel off this offseason.
Caps are gonna hang around for a while. |
