If Vegas wants Marner, they have to pay up someway somehow or else they will be charged with the intent of tampering. When you have Marner looking for housing in Vegas before his contract is up, it’s obvious Vegas has been tampering. So in order for Vegas to not face such penalties it is in their best interest to give the Leafs some sort of compensation or walk away from Marner altogether

The other place seems to revolve around ug explaining how he’s right and everyone else is wrong.

Free of Shanny Tre getting to finally go ahead and make the team more in a whole new image. Liking it. Things needed to change.

Decent younger potential brought in with the deal with Utah. Got Lorentz and Knies taken care of.

Then gets something for Marner in Roy who adds some good size.

I think Tre has to deal with Kampf, Jarnkrok, Robertson etc still but far as UFA? Be nice to land a solid scoring winger and maybe get a fourth line disturber like Perry even. Or even Turbo Tanev for that matter.

All ok players, but might as well do nothing. Leafs just lost an impact player, and they need to add one back at least.

The whole point of letting Marner go is to add more lower cost Impact players, not waste it on plugs IMO
