Yeah I like Max and you’re right, at times he was one of the only ones who showed up! However, the Leafs have lots of filler and need a top six player. If the get rid of Max and maybe Reeves, they have $8-$9 mil for a top player. Yes of course then comes the hard part, how to trade for him!! Tree was left a mess by Dubas and he’s doing well to try and recover the team and get options.

What they should do is when a new GM is hired, 2 clause contracts should come off the books after year one. They shouldn’t be handcuffed by someone else’s incompetence. Only 2 so that not everyone feels like the NFL where they just cancel contracts willy nilly.
Morgan might be the only contract to fetch something without making the team worse. No one is taking Kampf or Jarn without sweeteners which are thin to begin with.
