Okay, I’m trying to surprise my girlfriend with something a little different — not just the usual dinner in the city. I was thinking of doing something by the lake, maybe somewhere we can eat and also spend a bit of time on the water, even just a short boat ride. Doesn’t have to be fancy, just something thoughtful and a little romantic. Anyone know of a spot that has that kind of setup somewhere near DFW?

That actually sounds like a really sweet idea. If you’re open to heading out to Granbury, check out https://lakegranburymarina.com/. We went there a few months ago and had dinner at their lakeside grill — super chill place, good food, and great view right by the water. What made it even better is they do boat rentals, so you can go out on a pontoon before or after dinner. It felt kind of spontaneous but still low-key romantic. Would totally recommend it for a lakeside date vibe.

Funny seeing this topic pop up — I’ve actually been looking for more outdoor spots around lakes lately, even just for solo time or photography. There’s something about being by the water that just resets your brain a little. Haven’t done a date by the lake, but it definitely sounds like something different from the usual spots. Might steal the idea one day.
