So lately I’ve been hitting a wall with TradingView’s bar replay. It’s fine for quick replays, but once you want to really dig into strategy testing with more details — like order execution timing or even just comparing timeframes properly — it kinda falls short. I’ve been using it for over a year now, mostly to review my trades, but it feels like I’ve outgrown it. I’m not a pro or anything, just trying to build a more consistent system, and I figured some of you might’ve been through the same thing. Any ideas on better platforms that actually simulate trades realistically and not just show price movement?

Totally get what you mean, I had the same problem a few months ago. TradingView is nice for visualizing, but when it comes to real backtesting — especially with variable spreads or custom conditions — it’s not built for that level of detail. I ended up doing some digging and came across a breakdown of tools here forextester.com/blog/tradingview-alternatives/ — might be worth checking out. I actually tried Forex Tester Online from that list, and it was way more helpful for simulating realistic conditions. I could replay specific setups and see how they’d play out without rushing or missing something. Honestly, just felt more in control. Hope that helps if you're trying to take things deeper without jumping straight into live risk.

I don’t really backtest much these days, but I do enjoy following how people approach it. Interesting to see how many tools are out there beyond the big names. I mostly just watch charts and stick to journaling manually, but reading threads like this kinda makes me want to experiment again.
