Toronto is closer, so not sure whether that's a pro or a con to him. But I forgot about Uncle John, having some family in the city is a good point. Still not sure he'd waive, or if TO would trade him in division, but at least he has some tie.

Wonder if that would allow for Skinner to go with JT and spread the offense. The more I think about it, the more I like it. Tavares is a 1YR deal, so you can promote Savoie, Kulich or Ostlund next year (3 way race for 1 spot). Forward lines look a lot more even:

I think that's a playoff team. Even if you can't sign Kane, you can swap him out for Rosen, giving him a lot of support alongside Tavares, and sign a 4RW.
