As noted in the last blog, what is not to like about this move. The difference in players available from 18 to 20 is minimal to not at all.
Any time you can add assets without give up more than your getting is a positive. Whether or not it is a precursor to more deals. Who knows? But the move should be looked at as a step in the right direction. |

Were the 10 people that voted no Blackhawks fans? How do you not think this is a good move? |

I wonder if one of picks is used to move JGP? Doubt a 2nd gets Lee moved.

I can see a team like the Sabres being potentially involved with a trade with us. Team hoping to make the playoffs with a young squad looking to add some vets that have been there. That’s if it’s even the plan of course.
I’d much rather hold onto the picks even in this weak draft class and hope for the best. Let these vets contracts expire and don’t give up any assets. Trade whatever we can instead of resigning players in the twilight of their careers to long term contracts that will look terrible the year after we resign them.
That’s the most sensible thing we could possibly do but that’s exactly what we will not do. |

I also rather hold onto the picks and trade Nelson and Palms this offseason or by the trade deadline. I do not want them back even on two- or three-year deals. I rather no let the players walk for nothing if the Islanders could get something for them. I worry if Lou thinks this current roster can win a Cup. |

Didn’t realize there was a new blog. Put this in the last one. Not that it warrants much attention, if any, but I’m calling myself out on ECF current status:
Have to say I was completely wrong about the Rangers. Thought the cats would be in the drivers seat. That trouba elbow directly to Rodrigues head should warrant a suspension. But because it’s the Rangers, likely won’t. |

I also did not expect Florida to be down 2-1. Losing two OT games in a row is tough. Florida can still bounce back, but the Rangers seem to be on a magic ride so far. That Trouba hit should get a suspension. He clearly led with the elbow. |

Add me to that list. I didn’t think the Rangers were as good as they are showing right now. I don’t want to make anymore predictions at this point. I may inadvertently make this situation worse. |

These other playoff teams cannot seem to make the big play or big save against the Rangers. The Rangers get full marks and especially when their big guns are not scoring.

That was a great game from what I watched. Rangers had an extra gear at times. Very disappointing. 😆 |

Ha-ha! It was a great game. Florida's defense was not good. They looked like the Islanders on that Lafreniere goal and the winner especially. |

The panthers had the momentum for the majority of the 3rd period and couldn’t find a way to score late to close out the game. The rangers held on and found a way to win. They seem to be good at this. The caps sucked, the hurricanes were skilled but too soft, I’m not sure how to define the cats yet. But I think it may be they can’t finish. Have to give kudos to the rags for finding ways to win. |

No major on Trouba . They were going to call a double minor on Barkov and it wasn't even his stick. How do you do that??? I wonder?? |

Trouba has been walking that line his entire career. Every angle you see he is lunging forward with his elbow extended. I think the league right or wrong will look at how hurt Rodrigeuz is. It may end up a fine, one game, or nothing at all.
My guess is fine at best.

I believe the entire Rangers team should be suspended and they should have to forfeit the series. |

He isnt hurt one bit returned to play on the PP. Should have gotten a 2 minute embellishment penalty as Troubas elbow didnt even hit him in the face. Elbow got his shoulder neck area. Rangers got even though as he was the cause of the OT goal. LGR!!! |

As I had guested.
Trouba fined maximum for elbowing in Game 3 of East Final
Rangers defenseman penalized $5,000 for actions against Panthers forward Rodrigues |

I guess the department of player non-safety disagreed with you.

As long as this old sh1t bird is permitted to make decisions for this franchise there will be no “steps in the right direction” |

Should have been a 5 minute major. NHL officiating is comical. |

Rags are being outplayed. Igor is the difference in the series at this point. |

Mostly agree. The Rags have looked good at times. But yeah, while Bob has been good, Igor has been better........and has been the difference.
