The Flyers are better than we thought? They have won 5 games in regulation out of 28 games. The lowest number of RW's in the league. They're mediocre offensively and poor defensively. They're not a good team. Why should they give up assets for Giroux? |

The Fan Blog : Eklund on Flyers: Bring Back Giroux. The timing couldn’t be better. - the_fan_blog
1. have you ever said a player is not a good or great fit? if so any examples.
2. they can def use a player with his skillet. Giroux isnt that player.
3. who are the super talented forwards on the flyers excluding MM?
4. one more run at what exactly? being on the golf course at his usual time?
5. I do not think he would want to come back at all and def not play for Torts. |

Why do I feel like the next Flyers blogger is going to be James Tanner? |

Totally agree. Just look at why Ottawa is moving on. I'm sure it's not his play, but they have young forwards they want to bring up and develop - exactly what we should be doing, assuming we had a center to do so.
The direction the team has been leaning towards is youth, this ties up a spot for perhaps a younger player they could make a deal for? (e.g. Rossi...)
We should be looking at trying to make a deal to move up in the next draft or trade for a center prospect older than 17. The way the standings are falling we are in no mans land in the teens again, after most of the top centers are gone. |

Giroux isn’t coming back I don’t think.
as someone said in the previous thread, the “stop gap” signings during the hextall era are eerily similar to the deals given recently. It just seems to be how this franchise is built and how they want to be built.
Gotta give Torts credit for not kicking Frost when he’s down in the post-game. That’s good coaching IMO.

Giroux also has an NMC so I don't see why he would waive to come play out the string for Tortorella. He would want to go to a playoff team. The Flyers ain't that nor will they be for a while yet.

haha totally. I’m more shocked because it’s the opposite of how I thought he’d handle it. The problem is he’s using the nice guy tactic a year+ too late. easy to be the nice guy when it seems things are on the outs. |

I really cannot see G waiving his NTC to come back. As a top 6 LW option, who can take faceoffs, he still has considerable value to a team. I view G like Kimmo. I hope he gets a chance to hoist the Cup somewhere. |

Perhaps he'll try the kid gloves method now? I mean, they're stuck with Frost for the time being cause no one wants him right now. |

it would be silly of me to think the flyers haven’t entertained this but… what is kimmo up to? Seems we could use a European influence on the back end.
Even if he just has the Sharp/LeClair title… |

Cause the flyers are gonna flyer - corduroy Rags just lost back to back games at home to the Kracken and da Hawks! The east is a logjam for the final couple of playoff spots. The Caps are surprising everyone, but Tampa, Boston and the Rags are languishing. Flyers win 5 in a row and they are solidly in a playoff spot. They lose 5 in a row (which they may be on their way to doing now) and they could be at the bottom of the heap. I have to root for a team that competes, sorry sad sacks.
